10 Ways to Piss Off Your Staff

by the Muse, RN on February 25th, 2010

Dear Nurse Manager,

If one or two of these sound remotely close to the heart, you can change it!  If three to five of these are an issue, you will need help to change.  If there is more than five that describe your leadership?  …please resign.  You are the cause of a hostile work environment.

With kind regards,
the Muse, RN

  9. Never give a straight answer – showing everyone that you have no real power or authority to govern.
  10. Make bonus money off the back of your understaffed, stressed-out unit.

  1. Sounds lke my nurse manager now. I’m only an HUC, so I can only imagine how frustrating it is for the RNs. Can’t wait to find a new floor to work on!
